Bitch bitch bitch

According to the New York Times, the New York City Council is circulating a proposal to ban the word "bitch" citywide:

The measure, which 19 of the 51 council members have signed onto, was prompted in part by the frequent use of the word in hip-hop music. Ten rappers were cited in the legislation, along with an excerpt from an 1811 dictionary that defined the word as “A she dog, or doggess; the most offensive appellation that can be given to an English woman.”

Ignoring for the moment the fact that the proposal cites a dictionary from a time period during which public hangings were the equivalent of NFL games, doesn't the City Council have better things to do than to issue fatwas in support of the Ayatollah Bloomberg's increasingly ludicrous quality-of-life jihad? Instead of trying to be our nanny, how about trying to make the city a better place to live in? And I don't mean turning it into High Rise Disneyland either.

I mean really, what's next? The state of Connecticut outlawing the use of the word WASP? The Commonwealth of Massachusetts fining anyone who says "Mass-hole?" Florida outlawing the words "retired old fart?"

Sure there are nasty hateful words out there, but banning them only gives them more power. I say we let anyone say whatever they want to say in public. No restrictions; no censorship; no Victorian hypocrisy. If you're white and you want to use the N word to describe black people? You're perfectly free to do it. Go ahead. Say it. If. You. Dare. I guarantee you the only people who will dare? Will be the racists.

That's the beauty of free speech: sooner or later, the @$$holes will always say something stoopid out loud, and the rest of us will know them for what they truly are.

Like this guy, for instance. What a f*©king prick:
